Thank you for Sofinka - she is fighting successfully so far. Parents sometimes have a hard time here, and even though they try to manage, it doesn't always work out. Children cry and scream because they are afraid or something really hurts them and they feel sick. And when the children are asleep, the parents cry. So thank you from the bottom of my heart for a great idea and for making it happen for so many years.

The health clowns bring joy to sick children and help them forget the suffering that a hospital stay brings. They are charged with positive energy and transfer it to the little patients. They always come perfectly prepared and can cheer up even the saddest patient. The nurses also love to laugh at some of the clown jokes. Clowns just manage to put you in a happy mood wherever they go.

The health clowns are such a "family" for us at the hospital, and whenever we see them, we say hello to them and are so glad they work. They would follow Kubik up to the dialysis room and sometimes involve the nurses and doctors - this always put a smile on Kubik's face and made everything seem easier and not so sad. When a child is ill, the psyche is very important and we can confirm from our own experience that laughter heals!

When I see the balloon animals with the children during morning rounds, I know that the Health Clowns were with us. The children excitedly talk about them and show me how to make the animals. They are often so excited that they don't even notice that rounds are over. And that's the best report card for the clowns. The kids have them stored deep in their little heads, which is good because they associate the clown and the smile with the hospital, not the pain and fear.
