Health clown shows for children

We know how to cure a bad mood! Medical clowns, usually working in pairs, visit children's wards to prescribe laughter, dispel stress and sadness, cheer up young patients and prescribe more than their fair share of humour.

Health clowns, in the role of funny doctors and nurses, set off to the wards to assess the current condition of patients. Equipped with white medical coats, red noses and a suitcase full of unusual props, the "cheerful visit" begins!

Each Health Clown has their own original name and costume. Yet they are completely different from ordinary circus clowns. Health Clowns are not defined by flashy, pompous external attributes and striking make-up. On the contrary, empathy, playfulness and sensitivity to their own "shortcomings" and "mistakes" are what make a clown a Health Clown. The white coat and names of Health Clowns are based on the medical environment. After all, this is where hospitalised children find themselves and need to gain perspective on it.

Before the start of the Clown Show, the Health Clowns consult with the medical staff about the current condition and state of the children. Through improvisation, each little patient is drawn into a funny and unexpected situation. The aim of Klauniáda is to distract the patient from their illness and mental discomfort, engage them in play, involve them in it and thus bring a smile to their face.

Clown visits have a positive effect on the environment in paediatric wards. Our team of Medical Clowns practises throughout the Czech Republic. These experts in good humour manage more than 400 visits per month. That's approximately 1,200 hours of laughter. See when and where you can meet us.

What else we do for children

NOS! (To the Operating Room!)

Our special team of trained smile experts knows very well that the stress, fear and uncertainty that accompany young patients and their parents during the difficult time before surgery can only be dispelled with fun, laughter and good humour.

Child

It is an individual approach by a Health Clown to a child with a serious diagnosis who is hospitalised for a long period of time. The Health Clown becomes their long-term support and companion.

Cirkus Paciento

Health clowns visit young patients in hospitals and treatment centres throughout the week, teaching them new skills in magic, juggling and other circus tricks.

We have slippers!

Many children with long-term illnesses are discharged into home care at a certain stage of their treatment. After consulting with the doctor, a pair of Health Clowns visits the seriously ill child directly at home.

Kutálka

Kutálka is a special programme for children with combined mental and physical disabilities. Kutálka is a very gentle performance combining a simple story with music and a few props.

Virtual clowning around

Virtual clown shows allow hospitalised children to have lots of fun and meet the Health Clown "face to face" via the internet.

Ambulance

Health clowns visit hospitalised children directly at their bedsides. They also spread joy and laughter in children's emergency rooms and wherever children go for regular outpatient treatment.

Clown shows at the NIP department

Health clowns visit children in the Follow-up Intensive Care Unit (FICU) at Hořovice Hospital every week. Take a look at what the clown show looks like.

Emergency

The children's emergency room is filled with fear, nervousness and psychological pressure. That's when the Health Clowns step in, bringing joy and laughter to frightened children, helping them relax and feel better.

Child psychiatry

Clowning in children's psychiatric wards has its own specific characteristics. Medical clowns are trained for this and know how to bring distraction even to children with wounded souls.
